Entry/Object ID

Description

Oil on board painting of a scene of the dam on the Saco River at Salmon Falls as it looked in 1866, according to the inscription on the back that reads: “At Salmon Falls on the Saco 1866 / By G.E.B. '97”. The light blue sky has puffy clouds with birds. To the left side of the dam is a pile of logs. A building is partially visible to the right of the dam, with several more visible in the distance behind the dam. The color of the foliage seems to indicate that the scene was probably set in the fall. Framed by Sam's Place in gold and green frame.
