Gibeon Bradbury enjoyed fishing, both alone and with friends. A successful day of fishing was a good way to supplement the family diet. Bradbury had to work to make ends meet throughout his life and any food he could obtain without cost by hunting or fishing was helpful. Monday, August 20, 1860: "Went fishing over in Hollis near Warren Hanson's in the forenoon. Came back at night. Caught about forty trouts."
