Folding pleated pocket fan with double leaf of paper with sheen, possibly mica or talc in a light clear lacquer. Sticks are bamboo, serpentine-shaped and hinged at leaf edge for folding in half. Guards are bamboo with bottom half the same serpentine shape as the sticks, hinged for folding. No button, loop or tassel, and metal rivet. Decoration of leaf (recto): Metallic painted dots that look like spangle; stenciled flowers. Decoration of leaf (verso): Japanese 'shop mark' in purple ink ... long rectangle. The guards are decorated with sepia painted flowers on upper half. Sticks are decorated wtih gold and silver linear chains of diamond-shaped patterns with a small circle in the center.Dimensions
