Description

Wood framed paper invitation to the dedication of the Barbelin Building at the new Overbrook campus in November 1927. The frame is two-sided; one side includes the paper invite and the other side includes the metal printing plate for the invite. A metal chain allows the framed object to be hung. The invite includes "IN THIS SEVENTY-FIFTH YEAR SINCE ITS FOUNDING/ AND IN THIS YEAR OF ITS GREATER EXPANSION/ SAINT JOSEPH'S COLLEGE/ IN THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA/ THROUGH ITS PRESIDENT AND DIRECTORS/ SENDS GREETINGS/ AND/ REQUESTS THE HONOR OF YOUR PRESENCE/ AT THE COMMEMORATIVE EXERCISES/ TO BE HELD IN ANNIVERSARY AND INAUGURATION/ ON THE SIXTH, THE ELEVENTH AND THE THIRTEENTH OF NOVEMBER,/ NINETEEN HUNDRED AND TWENTY-SEVEN./ R.s.v.p."
