Replica sword used by the Catholic King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella to knight Columbus on his return from his first trip to America and for all religious and political ceremonies, as the conquest of Granada and the beginning of Spain as a nation. . The sword is held in place by a long wood presentation plaque. "The Columbus Sword" includes a gold plated fittings including a floral handle tip, wire wrapped red velvet covered handle and an engraved blade. The arms of the sword are engraved with "Tanto monta, monta tanto" meaning "they amount to the same."
