Abraham H. Howland, Jr., born May 29, 1840, served as Mayor of New Bedford from 1874 to 1875. Raised in Eureka Lodge in New Bedford in 1865 and its Worshipful Master from 1869 to 1871, he served as District Deputy Grand Master and Senior Grand Warden before his election as Grand Master. He died April 20, 1887, in New Bedford, one of the youngest Past Grand Masters at the time of his death.Relationships
