Visual depictions of Andrew C. Jenkins, Grand Master of Massachusetts, 1957-59. Andrew C. Jenkins was born May 4, 1891, in Lowell, Massachusetts, and was initiated into William North Lodge there in December 1913, raised in February 1914, and served as its Master in 1934-35. He served as Grand Pursuivant (1947), District Deputy Grand Master of the Lowell 12th District (1953-54), and Deputy Grand Master (1956) before his election as Grand Master in 1957. He worked first as a druggist, then in textile manufacturing, and later described himself as a "carnation growing specialist," while also serving more than fifty years as vice president of the First Federal Savings & Loan Association's board of directors. He served as Most Wise Master of Mt. Calvary Chapter of Rose Croix (1944-46) and Eminent Commander of Pilgrim Commandery No. 9 (1932), and he received the Scottish Rite 33rd degree in 1974. Jenkins died September 4, 1977, in his native Lowell.
