Arthur E. Johnson, a native of Boston who lived for twenty-five years in Hingham, was made a Master Mason in 1965 and served twice as Worshipful Master of Macedonian Lodge (1971, 1992) as well as Worshipful Master of Wollaston Lodge (1989); he was affiliated with numerous additional lodges, including Norfolk Union, Norumbega & Brookline, Washington, Simon W. Robinson, Old Colony, The Masters, Mount Holyoke, Euclid, Blue Hill, St. John's of Boston, and The Henry Price Lodge. He served as Deputy District Grand Master of Quincy District 26 (1991-92) and Senior Grand Warden (1995) before his installation as the 73rd Grand Master in 1996. A graduate of Boston University (B.S. and B.A.) and the Harvard Business School's PMD program, he spent twenty-three years as Director of Data Processing for Shawmut Bank before entering real-estate investment on his own account. He was an active Methodist at Quincy Community United Methodist Church. Johnson lived from 1936 to 2025.Relationships
