Visual depictions of Charles T. Gallagher, Grand Master of Massachusetts, 1900-02. Charles T. Gallagher was born May 21, 1851, in South Boston and was initiated into St. Paul's Lodge there in 1873, becoming its Worshipful Master in 1878-79. He served for twenty years as a Commissioner of Trials and as Grand Director of the Corporation, was Deputy Grand Master in 1899, and received the 33rd degree as a Sovereign Grand Inspector General in 1900, the year he became Grand Master. A graduate of Boston University Law School (1875), he practiced as an attorney, served as a Massachusetts State Senator in 1882, sat on the Boston School Committee for twelve years (four as its president), and was president of the Boston Art Club. Gallagher died September 28, 1919, in Roxbury, Massachusetts.
