Isaiah Thomas, born January 19, 1749, in Boston, was a member of Morning Star Lodge in Worcester (also associated with Trinity Lodge, Lancaster) and served as Senior Grand Warden in 1794–95 and 1797 before two terms as Grand Master. He is renowned as one of early America's most consequential printers and publishers, having founded the Massachusetts Spy in 1770 and later founded the American Antiquarian Society in 1812. He died on April 4, 1831, in Worcester.
