Visual depictions of John T. Heard, Grand Master of Massachusetts, 1857-59. John Trull Heard, born May 4, 1809, in Boston, was a businessman connected with the Trull distillery who authored a history of Columbian Lodge, where he rose from Junior Deacon through Worshipful Master (1854–55) and Grand Marshal before his election as Grand Master and subsequent service as Senior Grand Warden. He was also a member of St. Andrew's Royal Arch Chapter and Boston Commandery, and is remembered for declining a Cabinet post offered by President Buchanan. He died December 1, 1880.
