Joseph Jenkins, born November 11, 1781, in Barre, was initiated into Columbian Lodge in 1804 and served as its Worshipful Master three times and as Junior Grand Warden before his election as Grand Master. A carpenter by trade, he led construction of Boston's Masonic Temple through the difficult years of the anti-Masonic period and later built the New Orleans Custom House. He died October 11, 1851, in Boston.Relationships
