Visual depictions of Simon W. Robinson, Grand Master of Massachusetts, 1846-48. Simon Wiggin Robinson, born February 19, 1792, in New Hampton, New Hampshire, was a War of 1812 veteran and Boston merchant who served in the Massachusetts Legislature. Worshipful Master and Treasurer of Mount Lebanon Lodge in Boston for fifteen years, he rose through Junior and Senior Grand Warden, Deputy Grand Master, and Grand High Priest before his election as Grand Master, and later served as Sovereign Grand Commander of the Scottish Rite (1865–67). He died October 16, 1868, in Lexington and is buried at Mount Auburn Cemetery.
