Timothy Bigelow, born April 30, 1767, in Worcester, was a member of St. Paul Lodge in Groton and is noted on MasonicGenealogy.com as the only Grand Master since the 1792 union to serve two full, non-consecutive terms; he had previously served as Junior Grand Warden (1803) and Senior Grand Warden (1804–05). A Harvard graduate (1786), he built a formidable legal career — trying roughly 15,000 cases over a 32-year practice — and served eleven years as Speaker of the Massachusetts House of Representatives. He died on May 18, 1821, in Medford.
