Winslow Lewis, Jr., born July 8, 1799, in Boston, was a Harvard-educated physician and surgeon (A.B. 1819, M.D. 1822) who served as an Overseer of Harvard and as President of the New England Historic-Genealogical Society (1861). Raised in Columbian Lodge in 1831 and later affiliated with St. John's Lodge, he held a progression of Grand Lodge offices — Junior Grand Steward, Grand Sword Bearer, Corresponding Grand Secretary, Grand Marshal, and Deputy Grand Master — before two non-consecutive terms as Grand Master. He died August 3, 1875, in Boston.
