Context

The only female of the group, He Xian’gu’s name translates as “the Female Celestial Being” Her immortality is based on her diet of moonbeams and powdered mother-of-pearl. As she ate she vowed to remain a virgin. She is attributed to the lotus and is often depicted holding them, these lotus flowers cultivate people through meditation. She is also sometimes seen with a peach or musical instrument. She represents the female.
