Description

The front of this grey stone bottle is decorated in dark brown "skin" with a crow stretching its wings. The reverse side features an abstract pattern of like-colored "skin" in reliefe. Mask and ring handles adorn the shoulders, and it is topped with a red stone stopper and bone spoon -- Stone snuff bottle. Campbell inventory number 3, 70mm h x 49mm w, grey chalcedony of flattened rectangular form, the front decorated in dark brown "skin" with a crow with wings outstretched, the reverse and abstract pattern of like colored "skin" in relief. An agate snuff bottle, well-hollowed, of flattened, squared form, of honey-brown tone with dark brown inclusions polished on one side to depict a bird of prey in flight 蜜棕色瑪瑙鼻煙壺,一隻鳥在飛行, the reverse left plain, the narrow sides with mock mask and ring handles. 1800-1860
