Sad IronContext
A sad iron from the late 1800s to early 1900s. A wooden handle was added so that as the base heated the handle would stay cool. The handle was improved so that women wouldn't be burned when the picked up the sad iron. They were still heavy, but the danger of being burned slightly decreased as the sad iron design improved.
