Tree of Life #5-2-4

In the image, a strikingly luminous tree with a stark white trunk stands alone in a vast open field under a darkening sky, its branches adorned with countless glowing lights that resemble a constellation of stars, casting an ethereal glow that contrasts beautifully with the deep blue hues of the evening backdrop.

General Notes

Note

Lee Jeonglok is a Korean photographer who produces his images through a complex and painstaking process centered around the perception that light encompasses an almost spiritual, unearthly quality. The images are not made digitally, but by camera techniques using long and multiple exposures, manipulating artificial light and deploying various props on site and in real time. The physicality and engagement of this process is important to the artist. ā€œI struggled to find a way to express the vitality dormant in a dry branch. Going through a series of experiments, I began to use light. Light is the most appropriate medium to express the vitality that I discerned.ā€
