Neighbors #14

In this atmospheric image, a person sits in solitude on a bed, illuminated by soft light coming from a lamp. Seemingly engaged in a quiet activity, like reading or writing, they're partially obscured by a sheer curtain. The room's warm glow contrasts with the dark, silhouetted window frame.

Note

Expanded Wall Label: An acclaimed fine art photographer, Arne Svenson uses his camera to create a narrative of that which may lie hidden or obscured. This narrative, at times only a whisper or suggestion, weaves throughout his divergent body of work. In the “Neighbors” series, Svenson began photographing the windows of a building opposite his studio, intrigued by the implied stories within the frame of glass and the play of light upon the seemingly anonymous subjects.
