General Notes

Note

ADVENT PARAMENTS Advent is a time of anticipation and preparation for the coming of the Savior, and reminds Christians not only of the birth of the Savior but that he was prophesied in the Old Testament. The left part of the pulpit parament depicts the burning bush of Exodus 3. The early church saw in the burning bush an illustration of the coming of Christ, for it was God speaking to Moses promising Israel deliverance from bondage in the Old Testament. The right part of the design depicts the branch of Isaiah 4:2 and Zechariah 3:8; 6:12,13. Christ is that branch through whom God speaks and promises deliverance from sin in the New Testament. The table parament's design is based upon a passage in the Old Testament anticipating the coming of the Savior (Isaiah 55:12,13). See here the miracle of a miracle "as a root out of dry ground.
