General Notes

Note

In My Richter, Buzz Spector honors artist Gerhard Richter with a work of art that reflects Spector’s interest in books and in Richter’s own artistic methods. Using a book entitled Gerhard Richter 100 Pictures, Spector successively tears each sheet from the bound volume, leaving a little more behind after each act of tearing. This method layers slices of images in given sequence, which reconstructs Richter’s painting career and his artistic process of layering paint.
