General Notes

Note

Luke 16:19-31 Expanded Wall Label: "If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be convinced if someone should rise from the dead." In life, the man enjoyed the finest things: the deepest purple garments, lines of highest thread count, the most delectable foods. In death he wears agony, licked by flames and a tortuous eternity. Lazarus knew quite a different life; he longed for crumbs that would carry him through the night, his sores oozing and attracting even the pity of the dogs. In death, he is found in what he longed for most: comfort. We are called to have faith and believe what has been passed down to us.It is not faith that simply knows and reacts to the existence of fiery hell, but a faith that hears and believes the gospel of Christ that has overcome these powers and brings us into eternal rest.
