General Notes

Note

Expanded Wall Label: With its graceful horizontal branching, the dogwood provides a clean white contrast to the dull brown of Michigan’s spring palette. Also graceful are the individual blossoms. Four petals have the unique tips that look “puckered,” and are symmetrically arranged. Dogwood is seen in the southern portion of the Lower Peninsula, but not in the northern portion. In the autumn, the Dogwood produces a deep red berry, and its leaves develop a bronze color.
