Note
COMMUNION PARAMENTS
The pulpit parament is based upon the miracle of the feeding of the five thousand. The five loaves of bread and two fishes were multiplied by Jesus and by this act the Lord's Supper is anticipated. It is in that spirit we continue to celebrate both in remembrance as well as in anticipation of the Messianic feast when the Lord will return and make all things new.
The table parament uses the wheat and grape symbol by which we actually celebrate with bread and wine Holy Communion. Not only do bread and wine represent the body and blood of Christ, but they also depict the union of the body of believers as expressed in the form for the Lord's Supper.
