Mystery of the Yellow Bison

The painting depicts a serene landscape with a vast, expansive sky filled with wispy clouds above distant purple mountains. In the foreground, vibrant yellow and orange bushes stand amidst lush green fields, interspersed with tall, dark evergreen trees that create a striking contrast.

General Notes

Note

While living in Montana, I had the opportunity to visit Crow, Blackfeet, Northern Cheyenne and Gros Ventre Indians. Many of them remember the old ways. My empathy for their loss of the bison touched me. I began to see the bison in the trees. I have done several paintings showing this theme. I began to see the bison in the trees. I have done several paintings showing this theme. Black Angus are the choice cows to raise in Montana. Much of the land today is roamed by herds of Black Angus. This piece shows that the memory of the bison remains strong.
