Foundation/Global City Babylon

This abstract artwork features the Tower of Babel at its center, surrounded by fragmented text and an aged, textured background. The piece incorporates layers of typography and imagery, suggesting themes of language, confusion, and biblical history. The tower itself is depicted in a monochromatic style, while the surrounding elements in muted earth tones evoke a sense of antiquity and mystery. The overall composition presents a mix of artistic techniques, combining painting and collage, to symbolize the legendary tale of human ambition and divine intervention.

General Notes

Note

The first of the Global City Babel Series, this work includes the Hebrew words for “Living Word” and appropriates Pieter Bruegel’s image of the Tower of Babel. As a result, Bomer suggests “that the global city will one day be united through the Living Word.”
