General Notes

Note

Expanded Wall Label: This work commemorates that installation of the Fish Ladder. Built in 1974 along the Grand River in Grand Rapids, Michigan, it was designed as both an interactive public installation and aid for spawning fish struggling to bypass the newly constructed Sixth Street Dam. Designed early in Joseph Kinnebrew's career, the installation drew on the Brutalist style of architecture with its use of raw concrete and rugged appearance.
