In this traditional Japanese artwork, two people in conical hats stand and sit on a wooden boat by the shore, with distant figures and additional boats visible in the background. Mist envelops the scene, creating a serene and tranquil atmosphere, while a mountainous silhouette outlines the horizon.

Description

The current was too strong in the Tenryu River for human carriers so ferry boats had to be used. This print demonstrates a lyrical poetic approach with the mist and the vertical pole breaking the horizon line.
