General Notes

Note

Patterns based off of sound recordings etched onto metal plates. Expanded Wall Label: In the Writing of Sound series, Natalia Blanch reflects upon the intimate nature of communication within the context of religion. After recording her voice as she read from the Bible, Machzor, and a book of alchemy, La Triple Via Del Fuego, Blanch transcribed the recordings into pattern-based images and then meticulously etched the output of her voice onto metal plates. The result of this work of art suggests the lingering quality of sound and the one that realizes the universal yet personal nature of communication.
