This appears to be an evening scene. The subject is the gate to the side garden of the house at number 219 at the corner of Butler and Francis streets in Saugatuck. The artist cleverly places the source of light lower than, and behind, the wood gate.
Fagan moved to Douglas around 1990 and worked in the area for several years before moving on. He is known for the television series, "Painting On Location," which aired on PBS throughout the country.Type of Painting
