One of two oil paintings supposed to be a depiction of the mouth of the Kalamazoo River. The painting depicts a spooky house on a hill overlooking a body of water. A watercraft with smoke rising from its stack cruises by. The house and an ornate fence has been over painted in black. In the lower right corner is the text "Home 1888."
The painting's frame is gold with four bands of textured, botanical motifs.
Written on the back of the canvas is the text "Painting restored by Elita Smutney and Val Legatz 1971" and a partial shipping tag from R.C. Bird, manufacturer of window shades and wide width cloths, Chicago.Type of Painting
