This building was built by Daniel Gerber in 1890. The structure has served many purposes including as the L.W. Mc Donald's Peoples Store (c1912), the St. Peters Catholic School and Convent (1951-1968) and the Saugatuck Township and Interurban Offices (1982). After a major restoration as the Douglas Towne Centre, the two commercial units at street level have housed a series of boutiques and galleries including the Whitlock Gallery, Edwards Ltd, The French Cottage (one of multiple locations), Johnny Blue gallery, Brackett & Co., Cabbages & Kings, Articles Boutique and Endora. The second floor units are residences.Collection
