"Glyco-Thymoline was developed as a mouthwash by pharmacists Samuel Owen and Oscar Kress in the 1890's. Throughout the twentieth century it was promoted widely to treat mouth and skin irritations. For an eyewash, 10 to 30 drops of Glyco-Thymoline were diluted in warm water in the eye bath."
