Scope and Content

August 1947 Post Dispatch newspaper listing naming out-of-town visitors with opening paragraph about bulldozers being used to dispose of beach grass in Shorewood. Also mentions Five Acre Farm, John Cramer, Gerald Stryker, Naunheim cottage, and George Hellmuth.

Context

"For some years beach grass has been steadily encroaching on the large expanse of sand that gave Douglas one of the most beautiful beaches in the country. At last, something is being done about it, and little groups gather to watch the huge machine break down the dunes and neatly dispose of the grass all in one operation."
