Description

Collection of 14 b/w real photo postcards collected by members of the Brown family. The cards have not been mailed but some were taped or glued into scrapbooks. 1. Two men standing in a biplane or seaplane airplane with pontoons that is floating on the water. 2. Big Pavilion under construction with scaffolding along the facade as seen from Lake Kalamazoo 3. Marching band standing outside the S.C. Reed blacksmith shop/livery. Handwriting on back of card says "The Pavilion band for Farm & Barn" party - Buster Reed, a Snay boy and looks like Jessie is ? the gals in pix. 4. Coral Gables when it was the Columbia Hotel 5. William Cary Wm. Cary motor launch of the Wright Line in front of Tourist Home. The boat is decorated with flags and a banner that reads "We are Birds" 6. Steamer E.G. Crosby of the Crosby Transportation Co., with crowds of passengers on the decks. 7. 100 Kalamazoo River, Douglas Mich. 8. Eight sailors in white uniforms with printed message on the reverse "You can wear this uniform too" promoting the Naval Station at Great Lakes, Illinois. 9. Mount Baldhead stairs and Pump House, no radar installation, J.410 10. Butler Street taken from Mason St. looking north, S.134, business signs visible include Soda Lounge, Salada Tea, Eat Crow, the Three Sisters?, Hi-Lowe Bar 11. Big Pavilion street side, no tracks, J-488. White House resort sign 12. Butler Street taken from Mason St. looking south. Banner for dancing at the Big Pavilion hung over the street. J644, business signs visible include Fruit Growers Bank, the Crow, Hotel Butler, the Elms, Leonard E. Lamb real estate. 13. Hotel Butler, J-567, shuffleboard courts and Cook Park 14. Old Crow Bar, J-639. Empty interior of the bar with much chrome and scarecrow decorations behind the bar.
