Photograph of an illustration of the lumber baron Horace Duncan Moore's home from "History of Allegan and Barry Counties, Michigan" by Crisfield Johnson, D.W. Ensign & Company, 1880
The image depicts a prosperous, two-story wooden dwelling with wrap around porches and a bay window. The home and the children and animals on the lightly-treed property are protected from horse-drawn buggies on the road by a picket fence. In the distance a tug chugs by on the Kalamazoo River and sparse dune reaches high into the sky.Photograph Details
