An advertisement for Saugatuck slanted toward artists. This stylized drawing was found in the papers Ox-Bow teacher and administrator Elsa Ulbricht. The only clue to the artist is the initials M.I.S. on the right hand side. The style would date it to the 1920s or 1930s art deco movement.
The illustration depicts a tall, male painting student, equipped with a palette and easel, frowning at a female student with a handled box. Her skirt forms the lower edge of the illustration.Collection
