Copy of the Saugatuck-Douglas Visitor Guide from the 1950s. It was printed by the Saugatuck-Douglas Chamber of Commerce and has a green border with a picture of people at the beach. The purpose of the guide was to provide visitors with information on local events, resorts and hotels they could stay at, etc. There is also a stylized map on the back of Saugatuck and Douglas which includes the Old Lighthouse. This indicates that the guide was made in early 1959, before the lighthouse was destroyed.Collection

The book is permanently creased where it was folded in half for a long period of time. The color on the cover has also begun to fade, but this is most likely due to age. As for the staples in the binding, they are rusty and have begun to damage the pages in the book. It would be best to remove these staples before they can cause further damage.Create Date
