Zubel Kachadoorian 1924 - 2002 Interdependence c. 1980 | ink drawing with gouache Notes: An artist and educator, Detroiter, Zubel Kachadoorian attended several American Art schools and studied with Francis De Erdely and Carlos Lopez. Zubel taught privately and at Wayne State University, Colorado Fine Arts Center, Ox-Bow School of Painting in Saugatuck, Michigan, Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture and the Norton Gallery School in Florida. He also served as art director of the Detroit Reperatory Theater. Best known for painting figures, his work is in the collections of the Detroit Institute of Arts, Smithsonian Institution, Wooster Massachusetts Art Museum, Tate Gallery in London, Ball State University and the University of Michignan, among many others.
