Scope and Content

Silver spoon with a designed handle and bottom. The handle has a shield type design. The bottom has "Douglas" etched in with decorative leafing around the name.

Context

A 5 3/4" sterling spoon in a well known pattern (Mt. Vernon, according to Ms. Barr) with inscription "Douglas" with curly cues in bowl. The spoon was sent to Kit Lane after a 1976 request for souvenirs to display at the Saugatuck Historical Museum. The spoon was donated by Jeanette Barr of Port Washington, Wisconsin, daughter of Dr. R.J. Walker.
