Description

Three b/w photos of automobile rally races. 1. A line of sports cars pause at the bottom of hill. Traffic cones and a pennant banner mark the place. This photo by Kit Lane ran in the 2 May 1968 Commercial Record with the caption "Contestants in Muskegon Sports Car Club time trial rally on Saugatuck's Oval Beach road glide back to starting point after testing their skill, one by one, over the hilly course to the beach." (below) 2. Three old-fashioned Model-T type cars drive down a road. 3. P.G. Walter, race organizer, checks with the driver of a Mustang automobile. Back of photo lists date as c1971
