Text from SDHS/SCA joint exhibit “Signs of the Times” 2009: 7. sign: The Lodge original site: Ferry St. at St. Peter’s Drive—opposite West Shore Golf Course. collection: Recent gift by R. J. Peterson to the Saugatuck-Douglas Historical Society The entrance to this well-know resort (the Lodge at Terrace Park Resort) had an interesting “tower” at its entrance—as illustrated by this sign. The tower is now gone but the name is still used as Tower Marine. The lodge itself was a large mansion from about 1875.
