Scope and Content

Six issues of the Kuklapolitan Newsletter, a publication for fans of the Kukla, Fran and Ollie show. Vol. I, No. 4, Feb 1949 Vol. I, No. 5, April 1949 Vol. I, No. 6, June 1949 Vol. II, No. 1, Oct 1949 Vol. II, No. 2, Dec 1949 Vol. II, No. 3, March 1950 The Feb. 1949 issue states that the independent newsletter was founded on Oct. 13, 1948. Each issue has articles written by the puppets, press photos, illustrations, reports about the show's success, and sometimes music by Jack Fascinato. The newsletter was mailed from Chicago with a return address of Box 3446 Chicago (54), Illinois. The March 1950 issue states that the circulation is 136,307. Donation also includes a picture postcard with a 1954 photo of Fran and the puppets taken from a dramatic side-angle.
