Each page documents two cases and lists who was charged, what crime, and what action was taken. This book records crimes and punishments from 1885 to 1934. Context

The justice of the peace was an elected or appointed judge who presided over a court that heard petty criminal infractions. Proceedings before justices of the peace are faster and less formal than the proceedings in other courts. Often cases were brought by the village constable, a person acting like a modern police officer.
