1902 - Commercial Record office will move this week to the building owned by H. M. Bird, just north of the drug store. [source: CR 11 Apr 1902]
Analysis by James T. Faasen
The Commercial Record office is in the old Shepard’s Harness shop in what was called the Bird Gallery building (approximately 314 Butler today).
To the left of the Commercial Record is the bakery of E. Schaberg, John Schaberg’s wife.
The bakery building was moved there in 1894 to become Fritz Walz meat market.
The building visible to the right of the Commercial Record is a set back part of the Turrell Building which was connected to Miller Robinson’s store before it was replaced in 1909 by the Walker building at 326 Butler.
The photo of the Commercial Record was taken after 1903 but before 1906 when the D. A. Heath building was constructed.Collection
