Scope and Content

2 ledger books of accounts for the propeller ship [steamship] the R.C. Brittain that was owned by Captain Brittain. The first ledger is has pre-printed "Cash" heading for double entry accounting (credits and debts). The second ledger was blank and contains draft letters, children's doodles, calculations, a residential floor plan, lists, cash received/paid accounting from the 1883 and Geo. Reid and Brittain signature practice.
