"George Shamshaguay [sic Shashaguay?], a nephew of the Ottawa Indian Chief, Macatawa, died at Saugatuck, Oct. 10, from consumption. He was the last of the old band of Ottawa Indians, who formerly owned and occupied all the land in Allegan and Ottawa counties." -- Holland City News/The Holland Sentinel, Saturday, Nov. 1 1890.
