Wooden model of the SS Keewatin hull, mounted on a .5"-thick plank with a brass tag that indicates the hull is the Keewatin, [built in] Scotland - 1907, [and the model maker is] Rolland E. Richards - April 1971". The model has information about the ship, the donor's and maker's names written on the back in black marker. The back also has two nail notches and eye- screws for hanging. The hull has been shaped from a stack of laminated hardwood planks and stained to match the backing plaque.Context
The Keewatin, docked in Douglas from 1967 to 2012, was a notable fixture in the harbor.Collection
