Scope and Content

Seven CD containing 200+ scans of Bill Simmons photos plus an Excel document listing what images were used in the "2003 book," presumed to be "Snapshots," plus another photo index created in 2002. CD created by Jack Sheridan on 8-7-2003. Simmons photos were the subject of the 2001 museum exhibit and publication "Off the Record: The Photographs of Bill Simmons" The original negatives for these photos are in a wooden box in the Archive supply cabinet. The donor of the negatives is unknown.

Context

Based on one of the finest collections of photographs of mid-century America, these photographs offer a unique window into small-town America.
